Brown to ground, first winter, zone 5b. Might still come back, but April 19th it's fully brown. Fingers crossed.
Was a big box bare root purchased in early 2024. Bloomed true to type. Mosaic virus and struggled with black spot most of the summer.
Edited to add- had cane borer in every cane down to the graft. I didn't realize cane borer was an issue in my area. Removed as there was no healthy cane left above the graft.
In early May, replaced with a new Peach Swirl- carefully sealed ends of canes. We'll see how this goes.
I've tried this one twice now, and both times it died. Not sure if it's just too much of a diva for the Houston area, or if I managed to get two weak plants.
