What an excellent article. It has given me a new appreciation of Iceberg that I have indeed seen just about everywhere. I do enjoy the vigor of my Iceberg climber and the incredible density of bloom it puts on in the early spring and then almost to the same degree later in the summer here in Northern California.
I have seen the climber swaying in a breeze and it is truly enjoyable to watch when it is in bloom. There are times when the blooms have dried and some of the leaves have fallen that I look at it and reminisce how beautiful it was but given time it comes back to dazzle again.
Thanks for the photo credit as well.

I could not figure out how to add a reference to a rose so I am sending along this info so you can add a Pink Meidiland to the references tab for that plant. If you email me, I can send you a list of the other roses referenced and which page they are on.
100 Favorite Roses Book ( 1998) Page 89. Includes photo.
Book published 1998 by MetroBooks (an imprint of Friedman/Fairfax Publishers) ISBN: 1-56799-435-0
100 Favorite Roses by Teri Dunn Inclues chapters on selection, planting, basic care and troubleshooting. Follows with a list of 100 roses of all types in alphabetical order. The last two pages contain a plant hardiness zone map and a list of mail-order retail nurseries in the US and Canada.

Hey Darius/Chris, LOL, I'm not a stalker. I just followed your links from Xtube and found this lovely rose garden. It's wonderful. You are quite a guy! John Oakville

Thanks, I love my rose garden. I managed to trim half the bushes last weekend and weed that half of the garden in an hour (thanks to the heavy mulching job). I hoping to get some more done between rain showers this weekend. Glad you are enjoying my diverse talents.

I DO enjoy your diverse talents!!! Gawd, we still have snow with no thoughts of trimming shrubs. I was in the Caribbean last week. That's the closest I've gotten to spring. In two weeks I'll be in San Diego playing golf.... yippie. When my mom was alive she lived in the country south of Cambridge and we grew hundreds of gladiolia. I miss the gardening. Keep in touch. I'll be observing ALL your talents. Cheers, John

I purchased Dublin Bay three years ago along with Iceberg and Fourth of July. The latter two have gone wild while Dublin Bay has only made it half way up the post of the pergola. Has anyone else had this experience? Is this rose really slow to climb? See pictures of the pergola at http://tinyurl.com/8tt42.

I suggest you move this post to the Q&C tab for the roses mentioned.
