In 2011, I ripped out a significant number of roses and replaced them with a vegetable garden. The climbers are still there as well as a section of roses at the far end plus a couple spattered elsewhere. The hope was to make less work for myself but I discovered that growing vegetables is way more work than growing roses. Live and learn.
