Origin:

Bred by M. Guilfoyle & Son, Exotic Nursery (Australia, before 1851).
Introduced in Australia by Exotic Nursery (Australia) in 1851 as 'Dulhunty'.

Notes:

Until further information comes to hand, we are presuming ‘Dulhunty’ was bred by Michael Guilfoyle, (1809-1884) Exotic Nursery, Double Bay, NSW. It was possibly named after Lawrence Vance Dulhunty (1803-1871) who was assistant surveyor of roads and bridges in 1828. (or the Dulhunty properties?). The 1874 and 1894 references hint that it was not a Guilfoyle rose. More research is required.
