Crimson.  Strong, damask, old rose fragrance.  Large, double (17-25 petals), flat, rosette bloom form.  Occasional repeat later in the season.

Height: 4' to 6' (120 to 185cm).  Width: 3' to 4' (90 to 120cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 5b through 10b.  Disease susceptibility: susceptible to blackspot , susceptible to rust .

Notes:
William Shakespeare died on April 23, 1616. His birthdate is not known. He was baptized on April 26, 1564.


One of the English Rose varieties that has been replaced by the breeder, but still grown and sold in various parts of the world.
