Your description of this plant states that it is a once-bloomer. I have a very small plant, about two years old. It blooms heavily in spring in my NC garden (zone 7), puts on new growth and blooms several times or more during the summer and fall.

It gets plenty of water, is in good soil, and is fertilized by 'Once' rose food.

It also is extremely blackspot resistant.

Thanks so much for taking the time to post your comments. This is exactly the type of feedback we love at HMF. We invite everyone to take a few moments to share their experience with the roses they grow. This is how we'll all learn how these roses sometime differ from their "official" descriptions and how they fare in different environments.

Can you please tell me where you got yours? I have one that is supposed to only be a once bloomer (from david austin roses), and I would rather have a repeating one

My garden is in zone 7 of N. C. I have a speciman that I have grown for 5 years. It is about 2 1/2 ft high and wide on a rather rounded plant. The blooms on my plant are very elegant in form, resembling the romantic roses in old European paintings. I live where blackspot is rampart, but I have very little problem with
it with this plant--I don't really have to spray. It seems to be very tough. I plan to add more plants to my garden.

White is generally a fairly boring rose color for me, but I like the bloom form of this Fabulous! rose and the foliage looks like it is a nice dark green which makes the blooms really stand out. I am seriously considering purchasing it for my garden. Why did J&P drop this one from their availability list so fast?? I know they are notorious for dropping roses at the drop of a hat for no apparent reason we can usually discern. With this rose, all I have ever seen picture wise and read/heard comment wise is good things as well. What a puzzler this is....

Sometimes I see FABULOUS at Home DePOT in the bareroot season. You might look for it
come November. Also, check SummerWinds Nursery during that season.

I purchased an in-pot plant of Memorial Day this May '04. We have had deluges of rain this July.
My Memoral Day has put on 5 or 6 stout limbs and is now carrying 14 enormous blooms. It looks almot like
a hydrangea from a distance the flowers are so big. It puts on quite a show in the garden. It has lovely foliage. It has had very little disease so far. I am quite delighted with it.
My garden is in N.C., zone 7. -- sls

it seems to be very good for Florida too.. very easy going. Some black spots but not too much. Great rose!

This rose isn't succeeding in our no-spray garden here in coastal SE VA maybe 20 mins north of NC.. The beautiful and wonderfully fragrant blooms are never without brown edges-- the only rose so afflicted. Honey Perfume, Peace, and Quietness are all nearby. Hope as this plant establishes that I'll be able to cut it for the house.

Is there anyone growing this rose in a warm climate that can report on it's rebloom in zone 8 or higher?

This is a tough, long-lived rose in zone 7 of N.C. I have had a few plants of this rose live over 10 years without any spraying or other care. I lost the plants when a hurricane came through and they were destroyed by machines removing downed trees. I have replanted 1 plant so far. The blooms are large and of a bright pink color. I wish the blooms were longer lived. It takes a break in blooming sometimes for a short while according to weather conditions. I like to cut off the hips, as they develop readily. The shape of the bush is not especially attractive, but you can plant several together. It does not like too much root competition or shade. It gets several feet high. It sometimes has a little black spot at the base of stems, but generally it is healthy without any help. When you apply fertilizer be very conservative.
