I became involved in roses in about 1989. Being an apartment dweller, I tried to have minis hanging in windows (obviously didn't do well). I was captivated when I visited the original Tiny Petals nursery (Dee Bennett's home) not far from me and when I purchased a condo was thrilled with being able to have healthy minis in pots on the balcony. Now, living in a house with a yard, some of those same minis are able to spread roots in the ground and thrive. I have added many more to my original collection and have now expanded also in types and hybridizers. I still have a soft spot for Tiny Petals, have grown to appreciate Moore's miniatures and am always drawn to Zary's roses.
