I would appreciate some advice on selecting white climbers. I am a total beginner and only know that I would like very simple flowers whith few petals, so white dawn and iceberg types would be too frilly for what I have in mind. I am on the border between PA and NJ on the Delaware river. I have two sun drenched spots. One is a six foot high wood fence for which I would like medium sized blooms, and the other is for eight foot high trellisses against a wall of the house for which I would like sprays of small blooms. At the foot of the trellisses I would like to place some white bushes that will reach a maximum of four feet high, all as I said with simple blooms. For the front of the house I would like to plant a row of yellow rose bushes, peferably also with simpler flower forms and soft colours. Continuous blooming and ease of maintenance would of course be desirable.

I used the advanced search option found when you click on 'Roses' in the left hand bar. It appears as a tab on the main search page. The only single petaled, white climber which came up was Silver Moon. There are a number of suppliers listed. There was no information on how hardy this rose is so you'd want to ask before ordering it. From what you are describing perhaps you would be happy with Polyantha roses. A white climbing Polyantha listed is 'Rambling Rector'. Again there is no hardiness listed, so you'd have to ask. You can do a search for Polythana or Polythana climbing using the ARS color choices (below the first block of color choices) to search for a yellow rose which might fill your requirements. Best of luck finding the perfect roses

Wendy,
When using the "Advanced Search" feature, it's really important to click the "And" radio button when you are moving to another characteristic you want to add to your search.
I think I got better results by doing the following:
1. Click "Class" and select "Climber" and the AND radio button 2, Click "Bloom" and go to the ARS colors and select "White" and be sure to click the AND radio button for that section. 3. Move down to "Bloom form" and select "single" and the AND radio button.
I got one page of links for climbers with white single blooms.

If you look at the upper right hand corner of the page the picture of Symphony is on, you can go to 'search'. You can search for the name of the rose Symphony. On the page for this rose, you will find a link for a list of suppliers. I got mine from Michaels Roses at www.michaelsrose.com.
