Introduced in Belgium by Établissement Horticole Joseph Baumann in 1850 as 'Comte de Flandre'.

Hybrid lactiflora, Hybrid suffruticosa.  
Bloom:
Carmine-pink, purple streaks, stripes, flecks.  Crimson disk.  Semi-double bloom form.
