Origin:
Bred by Lord Penzance (United Kingdom, 1894).
Introduced in Australia by George Brunning - St. Kilda Nurseries in 1896 as 'Lady Penzance'.
Class:
Hybrid Rubiginosa, Species Cross.  
Bloom:
Orange-pink, light yellow center.  Moderate, apple fragrance.  Medium to large, single (4-8 petals), borne mostly solitary, cluster-flowered, open bloom form.  Once-blooming spring or summer.  Long sepals buds.  
Habit:
Armed with thorns / prickles, climbing.  Medium, glossy, dark green, fragrant foliage.  5 to 7 leaflets.  

Height: 4'11" to 11½' (150 to 350cm).  Width: 4' to 6' (120 to 185cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 6b and warmer.  Hardy.  vigorous.  Disease susceptibility: susceptible to blackspot .
