This variety is a small growing rose with a compact habit. It produces both small and large clusters of rather ragged-edged flowers of rose pink. The resistance to disease is good, but flower production is rather poor and there are long periods between flushes. For maximum effect a number of these bushes need to be planted close together. The mid-green foliage of ‘Captain Watkins’ is somewhat sparse. Zones 5-11. Hyde, Australia, 1960. Parentage unknown.
