Deep purple makes great cut flower, scent is clove and becomes better in cool weather. This rose needs loamy soil, and blooms best with lots of acidic rain and SOLUBLE fertilizer.

Deep Purple is 100% clean after prolonged rain, 70% humidity and hot summer. I don't spray. Deep Purple blooms last very long on the compact bush, and the color doesn't fade. This rose did better in loamy potting soil than in my alkaline clay .. I had to fix my clay with pine bark (pH 4) and gypsum.

Deep Purple is the lavender bloom, last 5 days in vase, scent is best indoor. It's 100% healthy, very disease resistant with glossy foliage (Kordes), but needs acidic rain to bloom well.

Deep purple is very low in thorn. The bush is upright and compact. It's 100% healthy in my hot and humid summer. I don't spray. The scent is pleasing floral with a touch of lavender. Stand up to 90 degree heat, 1 week in the vase if picked in bud form.

This rose's growth is compact, and not wide-spread like Poseidon. Doesn't occupy much space, but needs loamy soil and acidic rain to bloom well.
