The name of the worthy Herr Riggers has not inspired English-speaking gardeners to rush to buy his rose, and you do not often see it outside Germany. But there it is regarded as one of the best of the repeat-flowering climbers, vigorous enough for a pergola, and constantly displaying clusters of brilliant red, clustered flowers. The foliage is healthy, but the rose has only slight fragrance. it was introduced in 1957 by Wilhelm Kordes. Rosa kordesii x 'Our Princess'. Repeat flowering.
