The guard petals are prominently flecked with crimson, and the crown petals slightly so. It is a fine peony. Anyone wishing a root should order early. This is practically a new variety and consequently our stock is limited. When I was on the Pacific coast this winter, my peony friends told me it did exceptionally well there.
