The Ayrshire is a single rose. See the description by De Candolle (Seringe).

This is the Ayrschire Rose as for the text, not the Ayrshire Rose

I wonder if the illustration could be 'Ayrshire à fleurs pleines'. That was said to be tender pink to white.

It could also be Bennett's seedling or some other Ayrshire. It is definitely not THE Ayrshire and I think that all photos of double roses should be removed from this page.,

In which case it should not be shown under the Ayrshire rose.
The text probably means that is is AN Ayrshire rose (perhaps Ayrshire à fleurs pleines / Arvensis rosea flore pleno, Bennett's Seedling / Thoresbyana), Dundee Rambler, or any other kind of Ayrshire.
