"Photographed it at that glorious rose garden in Vrijbroek Park at Mechelen"
I have no knowlegde of any Vrijbroek at Brussels, the rose garden in Vrijbroek Park at Mechelen is famous (e.g. http://www.worldrose.org/awards/gardens/gardens.asp award 2003). The park's main entrance is situated about 300 m from the 'Brussels Gate', the last of Mechelen's city gates.
