Re the current HMF description: the average diameter would be 9 cm, not 9 inches. Roses 9 inches in diameter would be great, but it's probably a bit ambitious to expect them on this bush. :D

The Amicii Rozelor page lists the parentage as Rosa rugosa x ‘Cardinal de Richelieu’ but does not say which 'CdR' it is referring to (Parmentier or Trouillard). It should be possible to find out though. :)

Translated description, from Amicii Rozelor...

Medium to high vigour. Height 130-170 cm, diameter 110-150 cm, with long recurved branches. Leaves are dark green, leathery. The flowers are double (25-30 petals), with buds in umbel-like inflorescences. Flower diameter 8-10 cm, red petals, strong fragrance, similar to Rosa damascena. Blooms in 3 waves during the growing season. Good resistance to black spot, mildew. Medium rust resistance. Susceptible to common red spider mite. Suitable for landscaping, (and) for the production of petals, used in the manufacture of rose syrup and rose jam.

Awarded a bronze medal at PROINVENT 2021.
