‘Egret” is the name we’ve given this white sport discovered on my ‘Flamingo’ rose bush in 1992.
The center of “Egret’s” flower has a yellow disk circled by reddish filaments near the base while the upper filament and stamens are completely yellow.

‘Egret’s pistil and filament color is not like this. While rugosa flowers have a white disk and filaments with yellow stamens and pistils, ‘White Wings’ (pictured here) has a red disk with reddish filaments and yellow stamens edged in red. ‘Egret’s host plant Flamingo’ has a red disk with reddish filaments and yellowish stamens edged with red. The parents of ‘Flamingo’ were Rosa rugosa X ‘White Wings’.
