Bred by Samuel Darragh (1932-2019) McGredy IV (1974).
Introduced in New Zealand by McGredy Roses International (New Zealand) in 1982 as 'Colourbreak'.
Introduced in United Kingdom by John Mattock, The Rose Nurseries in 1983 as 'Brown Velvet'.
Class:
Floribunda.  
Bloom:
Russet.  Orange, tinged brownish. Reddish brown.  Mild fragrance.  35 petals.  Average diameter 3".  Medium, double (17-25 petals), in small clusters, flat, quartered bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:
Medium, upright.  Medium, glossy, dark green foliage.  

Height: 4'7" to 6'7" (140 to 200cm).  Width: up to 2' (up to 60cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 6b and warmer.  Spring Pruning: Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood and cut back canes that cross. In warmer climates, cut back the remaining canes by about one-third. In colder areas, you'll probably find you'll have to prune a little more than that.
