"Lilydale Younger" rose Reviews & Comments

One trait of R. carolina plena is paired prickles. Does Lilydale have those?
Have you looked at Rose d'Amour? The habit and red tone around the stipules and bracts look more like D'amour than Carolina to me. There are not many images posted for d'Amour but this summer I will make a point to take and post some photos.
I was also considering R. virginiana plena.

I've posted a couple of photos taken yesterday. It has so many bristles among the prickles, it would be hard to know what's paired (and equally hard to remove them from fingers). I will check for prickles under the leaves. I think the hips on it now are dead. Certainly it sprawls. It's a paler pink than Rose d'Amour and Rose d'Orsay.

I just found some old photos of Rose d'Amour and uploaded them to that listing. They are not the best shots but see what you think. The bloom color in that photo from Kansas is much darker than mine.
Ouch, those Lilydale prickles do look nasty!

Posting another photo though I don't know how well it will show the paired prickles (at the base of most leaf stalks).

I just noticed your bloom size comparison photo with Stanwell. Carolina plena bloom is smaller than Stanwell, about 1 or 1.5 inch across.
