The earliest descriptions make it clear that this rose was pale and the photos here show a pale rose but there is also a dark pink imposter around - described in some of the more recent references.
The deep pink impostor is pictured in Trevor Griffith's book. I suppose later references have copied him. All 'Elisa Boëlle' currently in commerce in Europe seem to be the correct blush variety. Do you now of any nurseries which still sell Griffith's rose?
