Bohemian Rhapsody rose photo
Rose photo courtesy of StrawChicago heavy clay zone 5
Close-up of blooms to show its large & many petal blooms. The bush is 100% thornless, nice scent, the beauty of the bush and bloom is hard to beat. Bought this own-root from Roses Unlimited Summer sale in June: https://rosesunlimitedsc.com/

Own-root Bohemian Rhapsody's best asset is rabbits don't care for the taste of its leaves, and devour Knock-out and FlowerCarpet instead in these 3 weeks of no rain & hot temp at 89 F. It survived zone 5a with all green canes. The blooms' fabulous color don't fade in hot sun, despite my alkaline tap water at pH 9.

Close up of blooms to show its many petals like an Austin rose. But it keeps its color well in hot & dry sun, while Austin roses fade in colors. Fantastic heavenly scent that perfumes my garden when it's humid.

2nd-year own-root Bohemian Rhapsody blooms keep its deep pink color in hot sun, while Austin roses faded to beige. This pic. was taken after 3 weeks of no rain, and hot temp. at 89 F. Bohemian blooms well despite heat and drought. The blue rose next to it is Kordes Blue Girl (grafted on Dr.Huey).

Bohemian Rhapsody after a heavy rain. This is the most perfect landscape bush: nice fragrance, 100% thornless, full-bush-shape, and blooms constantly be it hot & dry or heavy rain. I have Flowercarpets, Knock-outs, and many Austin roses, but this bush's beauty far surpasses them all.

This pic. was taken in May to show own-root Bohemian's excellent winter-survival, the tiny rose next to it is hybrid-tea Blue Girl (grafted-on-Dr.Huey) which died to the crown after zone 5a winter.
