Taken April 2010 - Central Texas USA. This photo was taken from a distance on a cloudy day. The underlying glowing red is clearly seen, but the dark highlights that make the flower notworthy are not present at all. It is like the camera cannot recognize the shading toward blue in the flower - though the blue-green leaves are accurately captured. I don't think I'll ever get a good picture of this rose.
The photo color was shifted a bit to try and get a more accurate bloom color. It did not help much. The actual color is much darker and richer than I've ever been able to capture with a camera. As a consequence of the color shift, the foliage color in this photo appears more blue than it actually is.
