I purchased this rose on a whim having never any miniatures...no fragrance, but what a shocker! It is a BIG bloomer! And constant. The blooms are the size of my iceberg, ergo my confusion about being called a miniature AND the bush got huge, again, adding to my confusion. But hey, do not kick a gift horse in the mouth!
We will see this year how it holds up in the vase....so far, so good...even without fragrance.

Does anyone here grow Starla in zone 9 (or close to that)? Please tell about your experience with it, with regard to disease resistance, bloom frequency, heat tolerance, how tall it gets, etc. Also, does it usually look more white, or more yellow?

Starla was bred by Laurie Chaffin, former proprietress of Pixie Treasures Mini Roses in Yorba Linda, CA. It's a very nice rose, as were many of Laurie's creations. You'll enjoy the rose.

My wife's name is Starla, and I have six of the roses that bear her name. I would be very interested in finding out Laurie Chaffin's story on how she came to name this rose Starla.
