I noticed a scent on the opened flowers a time ago. Today there were only closed ones, but when I removed the petals of a riper flower, there was a strong Rugosa-like scent with a touch of apricot.
They might be so packed the scent doesn’t come through, only when the flowers open up before they brown.
This year it reached over 2 meters after some ground melioration.

love the cabbage-shaped flowers and their porcellain like translucence. their short durability adds a certain morbidity. the leaves are a bit lighter than standard rugosas which adds a certain sophistication too (probably a hybrid with an old garden rose but the parents are unknown). grows a little bit shorter than me in an upward diagonal fashion and does quite well on my sandy soil. never sets hips and the fragrance is underwhelming.
