The Plant Patent also lists that pollen parent. Many thanks a_carl76 Michael - the Patent also shows the pollen parent as PP no. 1017. Can you find the name of that rose?

Got mine from Hortico in 2009, sold to me at 50% as a "1 1/2" but which was really something between a maiden and a bad take........it looked like a tangle of bobby pins, so small I chopped the roots and put it in an 8 inch pot.............long story short, by the end of that summer the plant exploded............by the end of that summer it was in a 30 inch terracotta like all my "big boys".............my nickname for my plant is MONSTER because it sends up basals beyond anyone's wildest dreams, every spring despite the fact it sleeps in the garage and doesn't die back I cut it down to like 3 4" canes and sure enough, here come the basals............unstoppable, rewarding, not always the best rose by the end of summer with blackspot but when this one gets the blooms "right" it gets them so gorgeously and perfectly right.............has been around now for almost 60 years and I believe for a reason............

I have found this rose to be remarkably vigorous on its own roots.

For me too. This was one of the first roses I ever struck in 1988 and by now it is in a bed that is rarely watered during summer, and tree roots have invaded. It still produces flowers. The root system seems to have spread as canes now come up from a circle of about a foot wide.
