Mine is about 12 years old and after a couple years on the balcony, was put outside. It is now about 3.5' high and the same in diameter. One sea of flowers in june with an occasional one thereafter. Needs absolutely no care - has never been sick. It make new shoots about 3' long every year. I have only pruned it once, when it was transplanted.
