Stumbled upon this thread! Just curious if this one was ever sent to any trials and/or released? And does anyone still have it growing?

A small rooted cutting (planted here August 2009) came through its first Montana winter in excellent shape. It is planted in the most exposed part of the yard and only had a few inches of mulch (leaves) as protection. It was covered with snow for over 3 months. We were delighted to see all the green cane when we uncovered it. There aren't many canes but they only had a little tip damage. Thanks Robert. CDXLUB and CALXAHI are the first roses Deb checks every morning.

Great news Dave. Roses and plants in general amaze me with their resiliency.
They can come from a climate with cactus and palm trees, yet in their genes they still have the ability to spend a Winter under the snow as long as they do it gradually enough.
I'm sure you kept wonderful care of them as you do all the babies in your garden. Your pictures certainly bear this out. Of course the cuttings were small when planted, it will still take awhile for them to show themselves.
I've got wonderful new things coming along. I hope you save me some acreage. lol (kidding) BUT, I'll certainly have others to offer in the future if your game.
Best to Deb, and you. ;-) Thanks, Robert

this rose is beautiful, are you thinking of introducing it to commerce sometime in the future?

Thanks for commenting Stan.
Hopefully I can get CDXLUB out for testing to someone who deals with HT's. This one is definitely a rose for cutting. It has long stems and opens slowly. Disease resistance and cold tolerance should be better than average. We'll see. It will be one to watch.
I don't concentrate on HT's but sometimes I can't help myself. ;-) Robert
