Book (1939) Page(s) 18. Harry H. Hazlewood. The New Roses of 1939. The second candidate, Fackel HT., also comes from Max Krause (1937) and, like 'Granat', reached here last year. In this free-flowering variety, shapely, fully double, slightly fragrant blooms of dark crimson are produced on bushes of definite healthy and vigorous growth. In the nursery notes is the record "A real acquisition", praise which is reserved for special occasions only.

The intense bright crimson-red, blackish shaded blooms are well double, as bud pointed, and high-centered with mild centifolia fragrance.
