Fackel (H.T.) has semi-globular very double flowers of deep crimson, shaded with maroon, borne upon neat but vigorous plants. Krause 1937...Medium growth. Slightly fragrant....June-September. Hardy.

'Fackel'. A well-formed, pointed bud, opening to a double flower of crimson red shaded black. The blooms are lightly fragrant, while the growth is vigorous and healthy. Recommended.

Fackel. In Fackel I found a gem. Growth could have been better, but its colour was excellent, and it held splendidly at all times. Faint fragrance only.

The second candidate, Fackel HT., also comes from Max Krause (1937) and, like 'Granat', reached here last year. In this free-flowering variety, shapely, fully double, slightly fragrant blooms of dark crimson are produced on bushes of definite healthy and vigorous growth.  In the nursery notes is the record "A real acquisition", praise which is reserved for special occasions only.

New Roses 1939.   Fackle (HT. Max Krause 1937) A well formed, pointed bud, opening to a very double flower of non-burning crimson red shaded blackish with a slight fragrance. Vigorous, compact and upright growth and a profuse bloomer. 5/- each.

Fackel (Max Krause 1937). A tremendously floriferous Hybrid Tea. The intense bright crimson-red, blackish shaded blooms are well double, as bud pointed, and high-centered with mild centifolia fragrance. The plant forms a pretty, compact bush and grows strongly upright. A cutting and group rose of first rank ....Low garden plants 1 piece RM [Reichsmark] 3.-   10 pieces RM 25.-
