Book (1883) Page(s) 227. The Roses of 1882...I do not presume to make a correct judgment on Hortus Tolosanus (tea, Brassac). I saw the rose in continuous rain, which it does not seem to love, and thought it not good, as it expanded in two or three parts like a bursting carnation. Peculiar colouring, greenish yellow like Grossherzogin Mathilde. Friend Soupert gives this rose a better testimony; it was apparently magnificent in dry weather and sunshine. Long canes; bloom solitary like Solfatara.
