In my hot humid climate the rose is very vigorous and very fragrant. Little re-flowering and takes the black spot. Full sun exposure.

I had 'Noella Nabonnand' from Vintage Gardens back before 2010. I can't be sure a decade later,, but I believe the one I had did have red new growth, which would make it actually Noella, as advertised. I don't remember about the prickles. So,, if I remember right, the Vintage clone would be correctly named.

Gardeners Chronicle & New Horticulturist p. 64 (July 25, 1908) …Noella Nabonnand, the latter finely scented but erratic in growth, carrying large clusters at the end of 2 feet shoots.

Garden Life 35: 118 (1918) Noella Nabonnand we rarely hear anything of; it is one of the most vigorous of all Roses, with beautiful, velvety carmine blooms, delicious perfume, handsome foliage, and does splendidly on a pergola, summer house, or anywhere that a rampant grower is necessary. I have found some of the best blooms on the galvanized roof of a shed.
