i purchased April in Paris from JP 5years ago, to date this rose is still small for its age, it does survive the winters, but is just seems not to wanna grow, i had been very confused about its non growth habit til i read that others had the same problems.

I planted this rose as a J&P test rose, and it didn't survive over the winter, so I purchased it the next year and tried again with the same result. I tried a third time the next year, and again lost it. I bought it on its own roots, hoping for a different result, and finally it survived the winter, only to fade out and die over the summer. I've never had results this poor with any rose, nor have I invested this much on such a negative outcome. The next time I want April in Paris I'll take a flight.

I live 6a, Columbus, OH and Diane, my experience with this rose is exactly as yours. No matter what oir how many times (3 for me) I just could not get it to grow.....it would get a start and then just die back and fade away...........the initial rating I think is 7.3, as you know, a rose that debuts this low is doomed to the history books and specialty nurseries..............there are so many better pink blends out there.........

I agree that there are more attractive roses anyway. It's interesting to know your experience was the same as mine. There are too many gorgeous roses to waste money on a dud like this one!
