Photographed in my Idaho garden on Aug. 30, 2012. This is a 1-yr. old own-root plant, less than 1 foot tall as pictured. The blooms are slow to open, and they change color in the process. The petals don't fall even as the bloom dries up. This photo was taken in near 100-degree temps.
