I am currently growing this variety and I find it very different from other landscape/groundcover types, including the other Flower Carpet series. It is almost more like the Drift series in that it is very much somewhere between an upright mini and a normal groundcover. It definitely seems like a dwarf of sorts. It really does not sprawl. It, instead, seems to build stem-by-stem into an ever-widening mass, yet the plant posture remains upright with small clusters of color cnaging blooms here and there. The disease resistance was fine. It was definitely superior to Flower Carpet Red and Flower Carpet White. It was about the same as Flower Carpet Coral but not quite as good as Pink, Pink Supreme, Blush and Scarlet. Only Flower Carpet White is anything like Flower Carpet Amber in plant shape/growth.
Overall, this is a raher unique rose compared to others. It could have easily been labeled a mini or polyantha, and no one would know the difference.

Have you tried to germinate any of its seeds yet, Michael? I still have not managed to get any up. It's pollen has worked on a few things though.

I tried it for pollen, but very little, and nothing from memory recalls any progress with it.
Sunrise Vigorosa did produce seedlings, however, and is true yellow.

After using both, my judgement is that they are subpar yellow dwarf types, for breeding purposes.

I originally purchased my plant of this rose in the 'hospital' section of a nursery; the plant was completely defoliated when I bought it. It sulked the first year, but has improved recently.

Definitely not as superior as Flower Carpet Pink. While more resistant to blackspot in my garden than other roses, it eventually succumbed and defoliated, where as FC Pink was not bothered at all. It has a very nice upright form. Zone 5b.

Its strongest merit, other than a color color, is that it is compact enough for pot culture, short annual plantings, and the like. Baby Love and Oso Easy Honey Bun also seem to share this habit type.
