H. R. Darlington in Roses (1911) lists this variety as "Mme. Lucienne Willeminot"

As he did in 1914. But a couple of years earlier in 1912 he called it 'Mme. Lucien Willeminot'.

This is due to the confusing habit in France to name married women after their husband's first name. The rose is dedicated to the wife of Mr. Lucien Villeminot, not to a Mrs. Lucienne Villeminot. A Lucien Villeminot was the step-son of Jules Gravereaux.

George C. Thomas has additional information in "Roses for All American Climates", New York 1924, p. 189. As follows: "MME. LUCIEN VILLEMINOT. Gravereaux, 1903. Hardy. Salmon-rose; double, nearly full; very continuous bloomer. Very vigorous. Has T. blood. (Data from Mr. Darlington.) Cen."
