Yearly membership is only $2.00 per month and adds a host of additional features, and numerous planned enhancements, to take full advantage of the power and convenience of HelpMeFind. Click here to start your premium membership..

We of course also welcome donations of any amount. Click here to make a donation. Donations of $24 or more receive a thank-you gift of a 1-year premium membership.

As far as we have come, we feel HelpMeFind is still in its infancy. With your support we have so much more to accomplish.

‘Athena’/RühKOR = Hybride de Thé. A plus d’un titre, ce rosier répond aux attentes des amateurs de fleurs à couper… fleur parfaite d’une trentaine de pétales, à cœur turbiné, d’un blanc étincelant à peine retouché de rose en lisière des pétales… En climat favorisé, il a sa place au jardin; ailleurs, c’est avant tout une variété de serre. Kordes, Allemagne, 1984.
La photo p.93 montre bien le liséré presque rouge.
Book  (Dec 1998)  Page(s) 93.  Includes photo(s).

Athena (RüjKOR) Large-flowered/Hybrid Tea. Kordes 1984. Parentage: Seedling x 'Helmut Schmidt'. In warmer climates this can be grown as a garden rose, but it is primarily a commercial item for the greenhouse...

Athena Grandiflora. Parentage: unknown. Germany, no date given. Description and cultivation... A new white rose with shapely, pointed buds which open to nicely formed fragrant flowers of about 40 petals with edges tinged with pink...
Book  (1990)  Page(s) 64.

Ted Phillips, Rosanna, Victoria.  Some of the Darker Reds and Others.
Athena  What a surprise this one handed out. Left to open in the garden it gave masses of flowers similar to 'Handel' but lacking the exquisite beauty of that cultivar. Placed covers over several and got magnificent pure white blooms of classical exhibition form. Growth, foliage and stems are all very good. As there is no shading in the white colour I wonder whether it will be good for decoration.  It may look insipid.
Book  (1986)  Page(s) 19.

Roy and Heather Rumsey, NSW.  Some Of The New Roses For 1986.
Athena  (Kordes) Over forty petals, good shape, large healthy foliage, few thorns. Strong grower. This is a cut flower rose, which, when grown under glass is pure white; out in the garden it has a faint pink edging. Some exhibitors are interested in this.
