'Astor Perry' rose Reviews & Comments

I grew this Astor Perry rose for a couple of years until the Easter Freeze of 2007 killed it off like it did about 50 of my other roses, so I won't hold that against it. It produced beautiful light yellow blooms that made good cut flowers and the form could be very nice when conditions were right. It was susceptible to blackspot so it had to be sprayed but since I do spray once per month that was no problem. I think that this makes a nice rose for anyone who wants a nice light yellow semi-fragrant HT rose that does spray their garden for fungal disease on a regular basis. You will get plenty of very pretty light yellow flowers that can show and make good cut flowers for your home.

Astor Perry provides beautiful soft yellow blooms that are exquisite. And I adore the red foliage. He is not disease resistant and to be at his best needs to be grown with a regular spray program.

New for me this year, the blooms are understandably a bit small but of a very nice shade of yellow. It had blackspot when I bought it at the nursery but it quickly regained health with my routine spraying program. The bush didn't get very big this year but I expect it will come around as it matures. Nice fragrance to this one and the blooms did have decent form and good centers. Definitely a keeper in my opinion.
