'Aromatic' rose References
Book (2006) Page(s) 183. 'Aromatic'. HT. Good reliable rebloom. Outstanding fragrance. Habit: 4. Belgium, 1970. Provenance: Pickering. A very fragrant rose which tends to cluster, flowers cupped, a blend of light and medium pinks with a satiny glow. We can find scant information about this rose; MR 10 fails to list it, even among the non-registered varieties.
Book (1989) Page(s) 117. Dr. Robert E. Basye, Myrrh-Scented Roses. The only other cultivated rose I know having the fragrance of myrrh is the hybrid tea, 'Aromatic', which I obtained from Pickering Nurseries a few years ago. The catalog gives its origin as Belgium, 1970, but it is not listed in Modern Roses under this name.
