...Cette monographie, dite aux recherches de M. Jean Sisley est un trophée qui assure aux rosiéristes de Lyon un rang très-honorable parmi les semeurs de toutes les nations.
M. Plantier paraît être le premier rosiériste qui se soit occupé de semis de rosiers dans le Lyonnais.
En 1835, il mit au commerce le thé Eugénie Desgaches, puis ensuite l’Ile-Bourbon Triomphe de Plantier, le thé Pauline Plantier, l’hybride remontant Reine de la Guillotière et Alba Madame Plantier.
