I found the following in Peter Malins' Rose Book (Dodd, Mead & Company, NY, 1979, authors, Peter Malins and M. M. Graff) p. 138
"In retrospect it is unfortunate that 'Dr. Eckener's' sport, Golden King (1935) wasn't...preserved. It was trained on wires below and at the sides of two windows where its luminous primrose-yellow flowers glowed with enhanced radiance against rose-red bricks while its delicious scent flowed into the room."
I am glad to see in the photos that this lovely rose lives on in Europe.
