Origin:
Bred by Adam Paul (1780-1847) (United Kingdom, before 1847).
Introduced in United Kingdom by A. Paul & Son in 1850 as 'Robert Burns'.
Class:
Hybrid Perpetual.  
Bloom:
Crimson.  Rose, sometimes bordered with purple.  Medium, semi-double (9-16 petals) bloom form.  Occasional repeat later in the season.  
Habit:
Tall.  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).  
Patents:
Patent status unknown (to HelpMeFind).

Notes:
This rose released posthumously.
The original name of 'Robert Burns' may have been later changed to 'Robert Bruce'.
At this stage it is unclear whether there were two separate roses, but different colours have been mentioned.
