Note to breeders: Little Butterfly flowers incessantly; has shown itself to be quite cold and heat tolerant; and has been reported as being very healthy in a wide range of climates. From experience, it will set seed, but mostly self set. Using it for pollen is much more successful than for seed. KR
Kim, this would probably be a great post to include in your journal as I imagine other breeders would very be interested in following your activities in your HMF breeder journal.
Thanks, I guess I should pay attention to the Journal, huh? I've never found anything in journals when I browsed them, but comments usually has traffic. Thanks.
"Would you like for me to wrap some and send them to you callused? Kim"
I guess we could try. The weather is about to turn hot here. Fall would likely be the best bet. I have most success with cuttings taken around end of October.
There's no hurry. It would be fun to try it here eventually. Thanks!
It's out of Escapade, but doesn't really resemble it. I love the rose and am surprised how "hardy" and healthy it's been. I have also found it releases pollen VERY easily and freely, so collect it before the sepals really begin to pull back, dry it overnight and start spreading away! Kim
