Was the florists rose prior to the 1980's, Robichon's 1955 Bingo? I have this 1980 Australian Rose Annual reference I need to place:
Dr. A. S. Thomas. Rosae et Cetera. p21. 'Bingo' and 'Sonia' are grown in greatest numbers in Israel for the cutflower trade at present. p25. We saw few roses in historic Avignon. They were all in shops and all were 'Sonia' and 'Visa' and 'Bingo' p26. [in France] No one could explain to me why Bingo (orange red) sells so well from Israel p27. In the millions of roses sent to Aalsmere by Israel, 'Sonia' predominates, of course, followed by 'Bingo', 'Visa', 'Minuette' and 'Korgold'.
