Also crosses with R. ecae have led to similar colour transfers: Golden Chersonese (Allen, 67: R. ecae x Canary Bird) has 85 mg% carotenoids with 92% epoxydes (of which 64% violaxanthine) and no trace of anthocyanides.

Golden Chersonese This hybrid between 'Canary Bird' and R. ecae (female) was raised by E. F. Allen in 1963. It makes a shrub up to 2 m high, flowering once, in late May. It combines the aromatic foliage and deep yellow flowers of R. ecae with the larger petals of R. 'Canary Bird'.
