I'm in search of a Lady Marine Rose. Currently, this is all the information I have. I'm hoping someone may be in these areas to verify the existence of surviving plants. Any information would be appreciated.

WMA is the Women Marines Association. The description of the roses seems significantly different from the one on this site.

"Mary G. Knapp served as WMA National President from 1980 through 1984

IN 1980 The Lady Marine Rose was developed by OR-1 chapter and dedicated to all Marines. It became the official WMA flower. By 1982 over 2,000 Lady Marine roses were blooming all over the United States (to include at the home of the Commandant of the Marine Corps), plus overseas, to include Japan. All profits from the sale of the roses went to WMA’s scholarship program. The Pacific Northwest winter of 1983-1984 was quite severe and Roseway Nurseries, who handled the Lady Marine Rose, lost the entire stock; it drove them out of business. But two bushes survive in Mexico City at Montezuma’s Palace that may be our bushes. The curator of the Palace had been told his two large vibrant red rose bushes came from visiting American Women who said they were U.S. Marines. Four national cemeteries state that on their grounds are rose bushes believed to have come from the women Marines."
