Origin:
Bred by John Cook & Son (United States, 1927).
Introduced in Australia by Hazlewood Bros. Pty. Ltd. in 1931 as 'Mrs. E.M. Gilmer'.
Class:
Hybrid Tea.  
Bloom:
Red.  Mild fragrance.  Very large, double (17-25 petals), borne mostly solitary, cupped bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  Ovoid buds.  
Habit:
Dense, upright.  Light green foliage.  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).  
Patents:
Patent status unknown (to HelpMeFind).
Notes:
Later renamed from 'Dorothy Dix' to 'Mrs. E. M. Gilmer'
