Book (1940) Page(s) 92. In "Central Canadian Rose-Breeding," Isabella Preston says this about Chippewa: R. rubrifolia X White Tausendschön gave one seedling which has been named Chippewa (R.23.04.01). It has reddish foliage similar to the female parent, but the flowers have some extra petals and are paler pink. The height is about seven feet. It sets few seeds; efforts to cross-pollinate it have failed.
