USDA zone 2b and warmer. Very hardy.

Notes:
Found in 1930 near Vilna, AB, Canada by George Bell.
Percy Wright in Canadian Rose Society Annual 1970 states that several strains exist, varying in horticultural value. The "other strains" may be other varieties that have become confused with 'Athabasca' because of similar flowers.
