Bred by Eugène Verdier fils aîne (France, 1869).
Introduced in Australia by Edwin Smith, Clifton Nursery in 1885 as 'Ferdinand de Lesseps'.

Class:

Hybrid Perpetual.

Bloom:

Vermilion, crimson shading, violet shading. Strong fragrance. Large, double (17-25 petals), cupped bloom form. Blooms in flushes throughout the season.

Growing:

USDA zone 6b through 9b (default). Vigorous.
