Cant & Sons, 1902), very large flower of the Victor Hugo type, with beautifully rounded bold outer petals and well-formed high centre. Colour deep clear crimson with slightly darker flushes in the centre, and dark veining throughout. Very sweetly scented. Remarkably strong and sturdy in growth and a most abundant bloomer both summer and autumn; buds should be well thinned. Awarded the Gold Medal of the National Rose Society...very vigourous.
